Welcome to our school

At Chirnsyde Primary School we take pride in providing a happy, safe and stimulating environment for all our children, enabling them to make the most of their skills and abilities. We work hard to ensure that learning is fun, challenging, enjoyable and relevant, giving our children the best possible start for their education for life.

Our vision is ‘Learning Together, Growing Together’ and this reflects our priorities of academic and wellbeing development.  In Chirnsyde we focus on all aspects of social and emotional development to improve self-confidence , motivation and self-regulation to maximise opportunities to learn

Our Values of Caring, Healthy, Achieving, Included and Respect lie at the heart of everything we do.  Our values are who we are and how things are done in our school.  Our children are very familiar with our values and these are used as a basis for discussion in and around the school.  Our Values assemblies celebrate success of all children in achieving our values.

We celebrate our successes with the wider school community and our parents and families are regularly invited to come and share in our learning showcases, open days and special events.

It is important that our children are involved in the life and ethos of the school, and they are encouraged to make a positive contribution to our community through participation in after school clubs, voluntary community activities, charity events, committees and local initiatives.

The implementation of Curriculum for Excellence has provided an exciting opportunity for us to actively engage our children in their own learning and equip them for life in the 21st Century. We continue to review our curriculum, assessment, learning and teaching to move forward effectively with Curriculum for Excellence.

I look forward to working with you as your child begins their learning journey in Chirnsyde Primary School.  Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns,

Best Wishes
